Devs
Devs are the light of the universe in human form. Their skin is always the same color as the clear sky and their hair also shifts from dark brown to black as day becomes night. Female devs are called devis and males are called devas. They are able to harness light energy in number of ways, depending on their chosen discipline, and moon light allows for a different spectrum of possibilities. Dev warriors are a perfect example of this. During the day they can open their chakras and absorb solar energy which enhances all aspects of their physiology before battle. The same technique cannot be done at night, but some dev warriors, such as those within the Circle of Gaorda, have learnt to use moonlight to blur their movement from sight, making them even more deadly.
As masters of light manipulation, dev sorcerers can create illusions during the day, and when the sun is at its peak, skilled magicians can create illusions as large as palaces. These illusions are translucent, and though some can make them opaque, all sunlight illusions have a shimmering aura, so as useful as it is to create a vision from thought appear before an audience, they are never mistake as real. Creating moonlight illusions requires a completely different discipline, and I have never seen one larger than a couple feet. But, perhaps more impressive, is that moonlight illusions do not have that sunlight shimmer, and so appear as real objects.
Dev Civilization
A discovery that revolutionized dev culture, was the ability to infuse solar energy into quartz crystals, so that quartz emanates light throughout the night. It is primarily used to illuminate dev homes, but the ability to store solar energy in this form has made quartz a valuable commodity in dev society. So much so, that it has developed into currency which in itself has created political turmoil because of how it is harvested.
